Looks like we need another $500 billion or so. Hum baby!
Predictions are hard, especially about the future, but two predictions are easy: 1) governments that do not yet impose wealth taxes will do so within the next five years and 2) governments will impose windfall taxes on all outsized unearned gains, from any source, anywhere on the planet.
from 21st Century Wire:
As the American economy continues to sink, and inflation continues to spiral upwards – thanks to perennially failing government policies – crime numbers are also rising steeply across the country.
As it goes, the FBI does not deem certain crimes important enough to gather any national data on. One of those crimes not tracked by the federal law enforcement is vehicular hijackings, otherwise known as carjacking. However, many individual cities do keep this data, and the results are breathtaking.

Vladivostok recently hosted the Eurasian Economic Forum where it was addressed by Russia’s president Vladimir Putin. Vladivostok itself is an important centre of development in the Russian Far East and therefore appropriate as the host of the conference whose theme centred on the “path to a multipolar world.” The conference was attended by representatives from 68 different nations, itself-a pointed reminder to the western world that Russia is far from isolated in the world community. Rather, along with China, it is the centre of a wholly new developing world and one that is less dependent on the role of the Western powers than at any time in history.

The White House has once again walked back some of Joe Biden’s comments. This time, they are going against the President’s recent claim on 60 minutes that the pandemic is “over.”

Legacy media and governments have amassed a tremendous amount of power over our thoughts, feelings and emotions. When it comes to our perception about major global events, whether it be climate change, COVID-19, 9/11, or what’s happening in Ukraine, it’s often beamed into our consciousness as an unquestionable truth.

“…highly attentive to inflation risks.”
(by Half Dollar) The Fed has just concluded its most recent 2-day FOMC meeting.
Here’s the Fed’s statement, posted in its entirety (bold added for emphasis and commentary):
Recent indicators point to modest growth in spending and production. Job gains have been robust in recent months, and the unemployment rate has remained low. Inflation remains elevated, reflecting supply and demand imbalances related to the pandemic, higher food and energy prices, and broader price pressures.

When Ron DeSantis is consulting renowned experts about whether or not to run for president in 2024, the man he is most likely to listen to is President Chris Christie. Well, not literally listen. He’ll instead learn from the potential prezzy who ended up presiding in network green rooms instead of the White House because he declined to run when he had his big – well, everything about him is big – chance in 2012. The Gov will also look to the lessons of President Mario Cuomo. These two guys hesitated and missed their window, just like there are some folks – Mitt Romney, John Kerry, Felonia Milhouse von Pantsuit – who never actually had a window at all yet still tried to dive through one and ended up defenestrating themselves.
