There’s a very odd story that many of you spotted and passed along, and it concerns all those antennae strangely sprouting and growing in Utah, in and around Salt Lake City. The phenomenon, as we shall see, may have a mundane purpose, one that, in fact, was entirely predictable and one that is fraught with much deeper implications. In the meantime, the antennae continue to sprout and grow like wild asparagus, and they’re not nearly as beneficial, and they’re certainly not edible. So what, indeed, is going on with all these antennae?

A bill introduced in the Alaska House would exempt gold and silver bullion from local sales tax and make them both legal tender in the state. Ending the sales tax would relieve some of the tax burden on investors, and take a step toward treating precious metal bullion as money instead of a commodity.

Rep. Kevin McCabe (R) introduced House Bill 3 (HB3) on Jan. 9. The legislation would exempt the exchange of specie from any sales or use tax levied in the state. Specie is defined as gold or silver valued primarily based on its metal content and in the form of a coin or bullion that is stamped or imprinted with its weight and purity.

I have always lived in a small space (apartment/mobile home/cabin) since leaving mom and dad’s nest many years ago. Small living is not for everyone. Being in a small living area, with pets and personal belongings, it can get crowded quickly. My husband jokingly says that we live homicidally close! I find that organization is important, as is letting stuff go when no longer needed or used. If you save everything because you may need it one day, then you can quickly run out of space. Clutter can take over quickly if not kept in check. We try to keep things tidy and organized. Evaluate everything you are bringing into your home, do I really need/use/covet this item?
