The sudden resignation of Matt Gaetz from Congress has triggered a crowded primary battle for his solidly Republican seat in Florida’s panhandle.
As Slay News reported, resigned from the House of Representatives last week “effective immediately.”
Gaetz announced his resignation after he was named as President Donald Trump’s nomination for the next attorney general in his coming administration.
However, Gaetz’s departure has ignited a battle between those seeking to replace him.
Whoever wins the primary is almost certain to replace Gaetz in the 1st District, which he represented from 2017 until last week.

Russian President Putin gave a 7-minute speech today and explained that they used a novel system, a medium-range missile with a hypersonic payload in its strike in Ukraine. It was essentially a test that worked perfectly.
As part of what Putin called a “combat test,” the hypersonic missile, dubbed Hazel, successfully struck a military-industrial facility in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, the Russian president added.

Several senators set to grill Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on his potential appointment to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have received substantial donations from Big Pharma. The Senate Finance Committee will first assess Kennedy’s nomination. Between 2019 and 2024, contributions from the pharmaceutical industry to senators on this committee amounted to over $6.7 million.
Republican senators received the majority of these funds. Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina received more than $679,000, Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana with $667,000, and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina with $564,000.

Charges have finally been brought against Jose Ibarra, the illegal migrant from Venezuela who brutally murdered nursing student Laken Riley. The court found Ibarra GUILTY on 10 charges, including murder, rape, aggravated assault with intent to rape, and kidnapping. This is not enough. Laken Riley and her family deserve justice.
Jose Antonio Ibarra entered the US through the El Paso, Texas, border passing that Texas Governor Abbott has attempted to secure with endless pushback from the Biden-Harris Administration. Democrat lawmakers and the media initially did everything to conceal the identity of her murderer. Biden refused to say “Laken Riley” publicly but did correct himself for calling her murderer an “illegal.” Initial reports of her murder did not include the assailant’s identity or migration status.

A bizarre new DEI ad for car brand Jaguar has been widely mocked as ‘woke’ and ‘outdated’ by social media users.
Jaguar released a new logo treatment along with other branding today that they themselves describe as a ‘new era’, seismic change’ and ‘bold’. All three of those things are true, but in the worst possible way. Their branding looks like a cross between Andy Warhol and Max Headroom, with a healthy splash of woke DEI thrown in for good measure. That’s kind of funny when you consider one of their taglines is ‘copy nothing’. Missing from the new release were any and all images of a Jaguar car. Interesting choice. So what are they selling? Good question.

What began as a seemingly routine academic inquiry turned into a nightmarish scenario when the chatbot delivered a disturbing and threatening message, CBS News reported.

The liberal newspaper the Washington Post is losing money at a record pace. They’re projected to lose a whopping $77 million this year alone and that was before they lost a ton of subscribers when owner Jeff Bezos decided not to endorse Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
How could such an institution, such an iconic brand be losing so much money? Maybe it has something to do with WaPo columnists like Jen Rubin, who recently declared that Republicans want to kill your children.
