Germany is drawing up a list of bunkers that could provide emergency shelter for civilians, with NATO warning at a time of rising tensions with Russia.
Donald Trump still has 56 days until he is sworn in as president of the United States, and by that time, he could easily be assassinated or World War 3 could be underway. A top NATO military official on Monday urged businesses to be prepared for a wartime scenario and adjust their production and distribution lines accordingly, in order to be less vulnerable to blackmail from countries such as Russia and China. Starmer in the UK and Emmanuel Macron in France are preparing to send in ground troops to Ukraine.

Europeans must be ready to sacrifice some “luxuries” to pay to support Ukraine and to prevent a “wartime scenario” coming to the nations of the continent if they are insufficiently prepared, NATO’s most senior military officer said in a speech namechecking both Russia and China as threats.
NATO’s Admiral Rob Bauer, the Dutch naval officer who is chair of the NATO Military Committee addressed a conference of the European Policy Centre think tank on Monday, and while asserting the alliance is more ready now “than it has ever been”, delivered a somewhat pessimistic message of the need for preparedness for conflict. In a speech aimed at businesses across the alliance, the Admiral outlined that businesses had to be ready for war, but by improving their readiness they also reduced the likelihood of future fighting by improving NATO’s level of deterrence.

Kyiv’s military claims that its air defenses shot down 71 of 145 drones launched by Russia at targets across Ukraine during a mass drone attack. Ukraine also lost track of an additional 71 drones likely due to active electronic warfare.
At least 23 people were injured in the missile strikes on Kharkiv and Odesa, as Russia’s military forces launched one of their largest drone attacks since invading Ukraine. This may have been a retaliation for the use of long-range missiles to strike Russian soil, although that was not specifically stated as a provocation by Russia.
