When Barbie came out, it was a cultural phenomenon. Mothers, daughters, sisters, and girlfriends wore pink clothes and gleefully showed up at their local movie theatre to watch their Barbie doll finally come to life.
Then, there was me, a guy. I was wearing a black shirt. And I visibly was upset because I realized that the movie would last nearly hours. But I was there. Not for me, but because a female person I know really wanted to see it. Also, for this site. Because lots of people asked me to review it. In short, my presence at this movie theatre was an act of self-sacrifice for the good of my fellow men.
