I was lucky enough to visit Poland in 2005. I was taken aback by the number of WWII historical markers scattered across the country and their grim significance. The entire nation is a former battlefield. Whereas here in the States, we may see a sign that reads, “George Washington slept here, 1776,” Poland is littered with plaques that read “Oct. 14, 1939, on this spot, 44 Polish women were murdered by Hitlerites.”

For those who may not recall Chicken Little (aka Henny Penny), the character was derived in the 1880s and was meant to be an allegorical character. Chicken Little was never intended to be the whimsical Disney fantasy character that it became. Chicken Little was infamous for over-exaggerating threats to existence, most notably, with the phrase “the sky is falling”.
As I watched the BBC a couple of days ago, I could not help but notice that the alias of the BBC should be ‘Chicken Little’.

In the latest example of climate insanity, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has issued an executive order banning the use of all fossil fuels in new city building projects. The order also extends to major renovations of existing city buildings. Wu announced the order on July 31.
One big caveat — projects currently under construction, under procurement, or simply in the design stage are exempt from the new rule. But going forward, any new civic building (or any renovation) in Boston must be built without the aid of fossil fuels.

Our elected representatives in D.C. are faced with just such a circumstance. To impeach Joe Biden or not to impeach Joe Biden. This is almost always presented in an either/or metaphor: Scylla and Charybdis, a rock and a hard place, and so on. The essence of these arguments is that impeachment/no impeachment offers no good option. I submit that this is a form of the Fallacy of the Excluded Middle.
