But Traveller’s Confederate connections recently led university officials to remove two markers erected in his honor, his gravestone as well as a plaque honoring the beloved companion. …
Traveller served Lee both during the Civil War and afterwards, when the ex-general became president of the then-Washington College. Lee was president from 1865 until his death in 1871. Traveller died a few months later.

The Ohio Medical Board has suspended the license of Dr. Sherri Tenpenny without even a pretense of due process on a procedural issue unrelated to patient care but stemming from a desire to censor her opinions on COVID and the vaccines.
Rather than working to protect Sherri’s rights, the state’s attorney representing the REPUBLICAN Ohio Attorney General David Yost incredibly claimed in an open hearing, “If we were to take Mr. Renz up on his procedural suggestions [that the Board properly afford Tenpenny her due process rights], what would happen is a complete breakdown of the process of investigations. Every time somebody thinks, ‘oh, this investigation was brought in bad faith,’ we’d have to run the court, we’d have to get a judge to sign off on it, despite the fact that we can’t disclose the basis for the investigation. We’d have to go through these steps over and over and over again. Justice delayed is justice denied.” He’s correct about the last sentence.

The catastrophic wildfires on Maui have spurred many to speculate on what caused such a tragedy on an otherwise lush tropical island. And, of course, many in the climate cult are simply closing their eyes, covering their ears, and shouting that climate change is the cause of this tragedy, and that everyone of us with our use of fossil fuels is personally to blame.
As of this writing, at least 93 are dead and the community of Lahaina lies in smoldering ruins as firefighters struggle to contain blazes on the island. People have been stunned to hear about a wildfire, of all things, devastating a tropical paradise. Such things are only supposed to occur in dry areas such as the American West or Australia — not on a lush tropical island.
