Like many other institutions, academia has gone from respect to contempt in the eyes of normal people, if not our garbage ruling class. But its latest series of public disgraces may wake up even the most obstinate cheerleaders for pretending that nothing fundamental has changed. And let’s use the opportunity we have been given to eliminate this dinosaur institution. At the top of our conservative agenda must be making it extinct.

30-Year Treasury Yield Spikes past 5%, 30-year mortgage rates hit 8%, Mortgage Applications Plunge

Today it’s the 30-year Treasury yield that pierced the 5% line. It currently trades at 5.02%, the highest since August 2007.
The first of the long-term yields to spike through the 5% line was the unloved 20-year Treasury yield on October 3; it currently trades at 5.25%.
These long-term yields above 5% are an indication that a form of normalcy is gradually being forced upon the bond market by the resurgence of inflation, and by the belated realization that this inflation isn’t just going away on its own somehow. This is a huge regime change, after years of the Fed’s QE and interest rate repression, and all prior assumptions are out the window.
Hamas Sympathizers Stage ‘Insurrection’ Inside US Capitol, Assault Cops

Protestors calling for Israel to accept the attacks from Hamas without response staged disruptive protests outside the U.S. Capitol and inside Congressional office buildings on Wednesday. U.S. Capitol Police appear to have made multiple arrests as protestors have refused to disperse from inside the Cannon House Office Building, with such behavior once labeled an “insurrection” by almost all left-leaning politicians and the corporate media.
According to the Capitol Police, protestors inside Congressional office buildings will be charged with illegally protesting inside a House Office Building. At least three have been arrested for assaulting police.
