Former President Donald Trump is expected to be arraigned this afternoon at the federal courthouse in Miami, where he’s indicated that he will plead not guilty to 37 counts in connection with claims that he mishandled classified documents.
The indictment alleges that the former president made false statements, willfully retained national defense information and conspired to obstruct justice – offenses which carry a maximum of 400 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Following backlash from consumers fed up with their focus on woke initiatives, executives at U.S. companies have cut their mentions of ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) on earnings calls by 31% from the same period last year.
Financial research platform AlphaSense reported that the decline of such mentions between April 1 to June 5 by companies represented the largest such year-over-year decline and the fifth straight quarter of year-over-year plunges, according to The Wall Street Journal.

In one of the biggest settlements within the banking industry relating to sexploitation, JPMorgan Chase has agreed to pay the victims of Jeffrey Epstein $290 million in damages in order to settle a class action lawsuit against the bank. Epstein used JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank as the financial mechanisms to pay for the sex trafficking operation he ran. There are other civil and legal cases still ongoing, but JPMorgan hopes to extricate themselves from the collateral damage of Epstein’s horrific exploits.

I am heartened to see that the negative effects of technology, such as smartphones and remote learning are now being discussed more publicly. Last Friday on GB News, Bev Turner talked about an ALDI store, to which entry can only be gained via smartphone. Various national newspapers are mentioning the psychological damage done to children through overuse of screens and social media. Addiction is a major problem.
However only a handful of people and organisations seem to be aware of the likely damage to physical and mental health from the radio-frequency radiation (RFR) emitted by smartphones, wi-fi and phone masts.

In a recent essay, I explored longstanding dissatisfaction about a bodily fact. I’m happy being a woman, so I focused on a bodily fact that I’ve never been happy about. My “persistent, insistent, consistent” desire for a rock-star voice was my best window into the disappointment over an aspect of one’s body that has life-changing implications.
My description of unrequited desire for a powerfully pleasing voice was met with some sympathetic attention, which I found quite sweet.
Mine is one of many potential unhappy bodily realities, including height, build, hair (color, frizz, thickness, absence), eyesight (nearsighted, farsighted, colorblind), weakness, etc. Seeing a healthy, functional limb as intrusive and alien causes unhappiness compounded by rational reasons that this doesn’t evoke sympathy.
