The Editor at Large for the Wall Street Journal, Gerry Baker, says: ‘We’ve been “gaslit’ and deceived” – for years – “all in the name of ‘democracy’”. That deceit “collapsed” with the Presidential debate, Thursday’.
“Until the world saw the truth … [against] the ‘misinformation’ … the fiction of Mr. Biden’s competence … suggests they [the Democrats] evidently thought they could get away with promoting it. [Yet] by perpetuating that fiction they were also revealing their contempt for the voters and for democracy itself”.

When we heard that the scrappy, independent Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, was going to appear on “Face the Nation” yesterday, we figured he might have something to say about the New York Times’ unprecedented and relentless drumbeat to force President Joe Biden to step down as a Presidential candidate. We weren’t disappointed.
Sanders said this:

Now taking employer to court
A woman who works at Scotland’s National Health Service is going to court for being punished after she objected to a man using a changing room for women.
The situation is becoming more and more common as men who say they are woman invade spaces that society for millennial has deemed for women only.

A recent survey showed that 40 percent of Generation Z believes our Founding Fathers are more akin to villains than heroes. This stat is just a reflection, too, of a generation that studies show is the least patriotic in American history. In fact, laments one Gen Z (born between 1997 and 2012) member writing at the New York Post, while she’s a “Zoomer” who loves her country, “sometimes it feels like I’m the only one.”
Young Rikki Schlott isn’t surprised by this reality, stating that her generation has never been taught why they should love their country; in fact, they’ve been taught why they should hate it. From “what I remember of my own US history courses,” she writes, “there was a lot more self-flagellation for our country’s shortcomings than celebration of our strengths.”

New York City is expanding debit cards pre-loaded with cash for migrant families staying in hotels funded by taxpayer money. Mayor Eric Adams‘s administration plans to give these cards to over 7,300 migrants over the coming six months, at an estimated cost of $2.6 million. This is a significant expansion of an earlier pilot program that initially provided cards to about 3,000 migrants.
Mayor Adams defended the initiative, labeling it a “cost savings measure” that temporarily replaces the existing system of providing non-perishable food boxes to migrant families. The program is a collaboration between the Adams administration and Mobility Capital Finance.

Recently I came across a November 2015 issue of Road & Track. It contains an article comparing the 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350, a muscle car of its time, with the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350R, a muscle car of its time.
The 51 years difference allowed the 2016 version to reach 60 miles an hour from a standing start 3.1 seconds quicker and allowed a 51 mph higher top speed.
The 2016 version cost 14 times more and weighs 860 pounds more. In addition to inflation I suspect the additional weight accounts for a good share of the additional cost and that the weight is accounted for by safety regulations written by bureaucrats.

Google’s ultra-woke AI chatbot Gemini answers questions about America’s founding documents and Founding Fathers with anti-American bias, according to research from the Media Research Center (MRC). When asked “Should Americans celebrate the Fourth of July holiday?” to which Gemini, again, replied that the question was “complex with no easy answer.”
“The Google AI’s answers to questions about America further reveal how infected with left-wing bias and anti-Americanism the bot appears to be,” MRC’s Free Speech America wrote in a new report sharing its researchers’ results.

On June 21, the FBI declassified a 1999 video of Saudi intelligence agent Omar al-Bayoumi casing the Capitol and other Washington D.C. sites for the 9/11 attack. How, then, did the CIA-FBI 9/11 report conclude in 2005 that Saudi Arabia was not involved in the attack? And why did the FBI maintain — for 20 years, before its recent retraction — that al-Bayoumi wasn’t a Saudi agent?
Such willful deception, practiced increasingly by American intelligence, is the subject of former CIA agent J. Michael Waller’s new book Big Intel: How the CIA and FBI Went from Cold War Heroes to Deep State Villains. The dramatic writing and detailing, backed by the author’s experience in espionage — in Central America and the U.S.S.R., and against jihadist conspiracies — make it a page-turner. In 37 chapters, plus additional sections and a reading list, it presents an alarming history of how a century-old Marxist campaign has succeeded in ideologically subverting America and its intel agencies.
