Study finds that Sweden is 2-3C cooler than it was 6,000 years ago

In February, two Swedish researchers published their study of plant megafossils in the Swedish Scandes and determined that Sweden was 2-3oC warmer between 6,000-16,800 years ago.
While there has been warming in this region recently, the warming is within natural Holocene climate variability and poses no threat to these landscapes. Instead, warming may enhance biodiversity in this region. The researchers wrote:

I live in an area where, quite literally, severe weather can “spin up” very quickly and with little warning, leaving me but few precious seconds to scoop up my dog and my radio, and scramble to the storm shelter in the back yard. As this procedure is alone somewhat risky, if there is a probability of severe weather – massive hail or winds or tornadoes – I will cancel events to allow me to monitor weather radars and to take shelter long before the sirens are blown. Indeed, if you’re hearing the sirens and are not in your shelter when they blow, it’s probably too late. And over the years, as the storms seem to become more intense, I’ve adopted the “better safe than sorry” philosophy.

Then, determine exactly what potato consumers do with the bags in which the potato was sold so that GHG emissions can be determined for bag disposal.

Eco-Friendly Brake Cables Eaten by Foxes Because They’re Made of Soy

Eco-friendly brake cables are being eaten by foxes, after manufacturers switched from petroleum-based insulation to soy, forcing owners to wrap their cars in tarpaulins. The Telegraph has the story.
Recent photos show multiple cars covered in blue plastic for protection after a spate of attacks in Worthing, West Sussex, with locals claiming at least 20 vehicles were targeted by foxes.
Jack Cousens, the AA’s head of roads policy, said the animals may be attracted to the soy-based insulation on brake wires.
