Argentina’s Left Craters, Opening Presidential Path for Libertarian Populist Javier Milei

Argentine libertarian economist Javier Milei formally debuted his political coalition’s campaign platform on Tuesday, a formal requirement for him to run in the October 2023 presidential elections.
Milei’s La Libertad Avanza (“Liberty Advances”) coalition issued its formal request to join the presidential race as the nation’s ruling leftist Frente de Todos (“Front for All”) coalition flounders in disarray, lacking a presidential candidate after incumbent President Alberto Fernández announced in April that he would not run for reelection. The current vice president, far-left former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, has also withdrawn her name from the race, again confirming on Tuesday that she would not run.

Huge “Mushroom” Explosion in Ukrainian City Khmelnytskyi

A huge explosion near the city of Khmelnytskyi in Western Ukraine has been shared widely along with unverified claims that a “depleted uranium” storage facility was hit and reports that radiation levels were “rising” in the aftermath of the strike.
The claims that radiation is spreading have already been dismissed as false by the IAEA (The International Atomic Energy Agency). Additional concerns about the safety of Ukraine’s nuclear facilities, including the Zaporizhzhia power plant currently under Russian control, as well as Moscow’s nuclear saber-rattling, have fueled fears of escalation throughout the 14-month Russia-Ukraine war.

Think seriously for a moment about what we were told about inflation over the last two years. As everybody knows, both the government and the Federal Reserve swore up and down to us that inflation was going to be transitory and they were, of course, dead wrong.
This wholly incorrect prognostication will be filed next to Ben Bernanke’s “subprime is contained” statement as one of the all-time worst pieces of financial and monetary analysis provided by those who are supposed to have mastery of the subject at a consequential time, ever.

As should be very apparent, this is a contentious subject, a double edged sword of sorts, and one that requires open and honest explanation. It should be obvious, but it is not, that no one can forcibly open another’s closed mind, or tame and stifle his indifference. No matter the power wielded, no matter the desired intent, no matter a gallant effort, wasted or not; each person is a unique individual, regardless of his collective desires, or his cowardice in the face of adversity and human suffering.

Federal prosecutors last week announced the indictment of U.S. Representative George Santos (R-N.Y.) on a host of charges, including misuse of federal campaign funds and wire fraud, almost all of them resulting from his pathological lies.
Certainly, Santos deserved the attention of prosecutors for lying on federal documents and affidavits that may have helped him win a congressional seat as well as personal lucre.

Aggressive use of ventilators may have killed some Covid patients, a new paper from Northwestern University researchers suggests.
Covid itself has a “relatively low mortality rate” compared to other respiratory illnesses, the researchers found after examining about 600 patients with severe pneumonia. Yet Covid patients remained intubated longer than other patients and developed secondary bacterial infections more often.

The witness, who described herself as a woman of color, said it is wrong for Bragg to charge Penny. Instead, she said Penny is a hero and what he did was self-defense.
