Liberty Daily published an article today about McCarthy making a prediction about the White House nominee. The article has a bunch of interesting things in there, and there are a lot of relevant topics covered. It starts out with McCarthy stating that he thinks Trump is going to be the nominee. Shocker right? Trump’s ahead by 50+ points; all the candidates are in single digits except for DeSantis, who has 12.7% support. Trump is winning this by a ridiculous amount, and I kind of feel bad about the way this is going down. The only thing the other candidates are doing at this point is just pulling away from the ability to unify. Frankly, outside of DeSantis, I don’t think any of them have die-hard support; nobody is jumping up and down over Mike Pence. Why would you? The thing about DeSantis is I like him; he’s done a good job in Florida. I am just of the opinion that that’s where he should have stayed for a few more years.
House Committee Passes Anti-CBDC Bill

The House Financial Services Committee has been busy of late. On Wednesday, September 20, no fewer than 11 separate pieces of legislation were passed out of committee, a number of which have very positive ramifications for the cause of liberty.
Perhaps the most important is H.R. 5403, the “CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act,” which would ban the issuance of central bank digital currencies, or CBDCs, by the Federal Reserve. The bill, offered by Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), “prevents the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC directly or indirectly to individuals or maintaining accounts on behalf of individuals” and also “prohibits the Secretary of the Treasury from directing the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to issue a CBDC and clarifies that a CBDC can only be issued pursuant to congressional authorization,” according to a Financial Service Committee press release.

As I indicated in my previous column, the so-called mass media continues to emphasize that there is no proof the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” despite the fact that various individuals and groups have produced what appear to be credible evidence of wide-spread election fraud, cheating, and other “irregularities.” On the other hand, none of said media has ever applied the same standard to itself; the media even went so far as to assert the 2020 elections was the “most secure in American history,” there was no “outcome-determinative fraud” (a quote from President Trump’s third indictment), and that claims made by President Trump and others that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” were false, despite failing to present factual and publicly verified proof of those claims.
