The model relies on a policy paradigm that privileges urbanisation, global markets, long supply chains, external proprietary inputs, highly processed food and market (corporate) dependency at the expense of rural communities, small independent enterprises and smallholder farms, local markets, short supply chains, on-farm resources, diverse agroecological cropping, nutrient dense diets and food sovereignty.

The U.S. made the announcement on Saturday. In response to the news, China has made it clear they will not be backing down.
“No matter how much of the ordinary people’s taxpayer money the … Taiwanese separatist forces spend, no matter how many U.S. weapons, it will not shake our resolve to solve the Taiwan problem. Or shake our firm will to realize the reunification of our motherland,” said Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of China.

“Paid for by Government” means paid for by Medicare. I now have 24 expired Covid tests for which Medicare has paid.
Since reporting this a few days ago I have now received Medicare notices that FIVE more labs have sent me AT MEDICARE’S EXPENSE Covid test kits. These kits have not year arrived, but the bill to Medicare has.

Newmont, one of the world’s largest gold companies and a leading producer of copper, zinc, lead, and silver, declared a “force majeure” this week indicating that it will not be able to deliver on contractual agreements for at least some of its products.
Reuters picked up the story and reported that a union strike at Newmont’s Peñasquito mine in Mexico is limiting delivery on some of the mine’s products – except that report failed to mention silver as one of the metals that Newmont is failing to deliver to customers.

The mystery of the death of Tafari Campbell, Barack Obama’s friend and personal chef, continues to deepen as the former president showed up to golf on Friday at the members-only Vineyards Club with a black eye and sporting a bandaged hand.
Barack Obama hit the links while former First Lady Michele Obama played tennis elsewhere on the property. The photos clearly show a bruise or ‘black eye’ under Barack’s left eye as well as bandaged hand. It is known that the former president has wrapped his hand to play golf before, thus allaying some mystery.

The 4th International Forum for the Development and Digital Transformation of Cities was held in Russia from 26 to 28 July. The Forum’s theme was ‘Smart City, Smart Country’ and was considered a key event in the digital transformation of cities. The conference was sponsored by the majority state-owned bank Sberbank.
