Supreme Court to Hear Case That Could Release J6ers

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court dealt a death blow to various states’ attempts to remove Donald Trump from their 2024 ballots. In Trump vs. Anderson, the State of Colorado had accused Trump without evidence of participating in an “insurrection” on January 6, 2021.
SCOTUS disappointed Trump’s political enemies, too, when it agreed late last month to review lower-court rulings that rejected his claims of presidential immunity from criminal prosecution. They’ll hear oral arguments in that case on April 22, about the same time that the DOJ had hoped to be convicting the former president.

As previously reported, the aerospace giant has been under regulatory scrutiny following a string of safety-related incidents since the beginning of the year (really, since 2019 when two of its 737 MAXes fell out of the sky like overpriced deadly paperweight, but let’s just skip to the latest snafu), starting with a door blowing off a flight and continuing with multiple other incidents, including a cracked cockpit window, bolts missing on a wing, various wheels falling off during takeoff in at least two incidents and several engine fires/failures.

If this bill becomes law, it is not certain that there is a U.S. buyer that would be willing to purchase those shares, and it is not certain that the Chinese government would be willing to allow ByteDance to sell those shares. So the fate of the platform is very much up in the air. 170 million Americans have accounts on TikTok, and 7 million small businesses use the platform. Needless to say, there are vast hordes of young people that are extremely upset about what Congress is trying to do, and lots of them will be voting in November.
