Brown University professor Emily Oster has created quite a stir with her recent article asking for a “pandemic amnesty.” In it, she calls for “both sides” in the COVID debate to forgive each other so we can focus on solving current problems. If Oster wanted exposure, she certainly got it, with commentators far and wide responding to her plea. If she wanted to heal wounds and close chasms, however, she failed miserably. Many have told her to go pound sand.

There was a chance that FTX could survive when Binance announced a shocking rescue plan, but after looking at the books Binance has reportedly backed out of the deal. As a result, investors that have poured billions into FTX are likely to lose everything. And many believe that FTX’s heavily promoted token, FTT, is going to zero. If you have been waiting for a financial disaster to happen, this certainly qualifies. A lot of people that were “crypto millionaires” not too long ago are going to be totally wiped out.

Anthony “Tony” DeLuca, 85, died Oct. 9 “after a brief battle with lymphoma, a disease he twice previously beat,” the Caucus said in a statement.

Less than three months later, the public has its answer. Bankman-Fried’s crypto empire has turned to ruins in one week.
As it turns out, folks don’t have a lot of confidence in the crypto exchanges that hold their crypto. The equivalent of bank runs seen in the early 1930s, before federal deposit insurance was enacted by Congress in 1933, can wipe out a crypto exchange in a week’s time.

Bill LaPlante, the Pentagon’s chief weapons-buyer (“Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment”) spoke on November 4th at the neoconservative-neoliberal George Mason University, near the Pentagon, and announced that soon after the next Congress becomes elected on November 8th, the existing Congress will overwhelmingly vote to grant to America’s weapons-manufacturers the blank checks that they’ve been seeking in order for the U.S. Government to defeat both China’s Government (regarding Taiwan) and Russia’s Government (regarding Ukraine). He was accompanied there by James P. Woolsey, the President of Defense Acquisition University, in the Acquisition office at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, who also spoke there.
