Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have been purchasing swathes of land on the Hawaiian island for nearly a decade – ostensibly to build what they say is a family compound and get-a-way vacation home. Reports from local residents, however, indicate there may be more to the picture than a simple family compound.

The property will feature two mansions, their combined size being roughly 57,000 square feet. At least one of the structures contains numerous conference rooms and an industrial kitchen – suggesting the property will be used for more than just the rest and relaxation of the Zuckerberg family. Indeed, some reports indicate the Hawaiian property has already been used by Zuckerberg to host corporate retreats.
