“I’m joining the party of the people”
Former Democrat Representative Tulsi Gabbard has announced that she will officially join the Republican Party.
Gabbard made the announcement at a Trump rally in North Carolina, giving him credit for her decision.
“I’m proud to stand here with you today, President Trump, and announce that I’m joining the Republican Party,” Gabbard stated.

She continued, “I’m joining the party of the people, the party of equality, the party that was founded to fight against and end slavery in this country.”
“It is the party of common sense and the party that is led by a president who has the courage and strength to fight for peace,” Gabbard, an Iraq veteran, also urged.

She added, “You know, I was a Democrat for over 20 years. Today’s Democrat Party is completely unrecognizable, which points to the clear choice that we have in this Election Day.”
“When you look at the party of Kamala Harris, for example, she is anti-freedom. She is pro-censorship, she is pro-open borders and she is pro-war without even pretending to care about peace,” the former Congresswoman urged.
She followed it up with a post on X:
For independent-thinkers like myself, there is no home in the Democrat Party. However, there is a home for us in the Republican Party.

Gabbard, who represented Hawaii in Congress, left the Democrats in 2022 lamenting that they had become “an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness.”
