It is no secret that the Great State of Florida has been at the forefront of news outlets regarding how they have handled the pandemic and mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. Gaining much recognition and a fair amount of criticism, the State Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, MD, has stood strong in his convictions against mRNA vaccines. There is a lack of clinical trials verifying whether these so-called vaccines even offer any protection against the SARS-CoV-2 infection.

On today’s episode, the nurses discuss the current state of Florida’s State Surgeon General continuing to double down on mRNA vaccines by putting out a recent statement on September 12th, 2024, where he lays out his updated guidance for COVID-19 boosters for the fall and winter 2024-2025.

One of the questions that came into Nurses Out Loud was, in the event that one did not participate in getting another booster for the upcoming COVID season, what could be done in place of it? Often, we are constantly pressured into believing vaccinations are the end-all-be-all when there are many other realistic avenues our communities can take to boost their immune systems and stay healthy during cold and flu season.

During the pandemic, communities were pushed to vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate. Very little information on how one should care for oneself was highlighted in the mainstream media. Cities promoted mRNA COVID-19 vaccines while offering donuts, gift cards, and lottery tickets. Meanwhile, in the updated guidelines, Dr. Joseph Ladapo discusses specific ways to protect oneself from illness. He details staying physically active and minimizing processed foods while focusing on healthy vegetables, fruits, and fats.

One of the biggest deficiencies seen in moderate to severe COVID-19 patients was low vitamin D levels. It is recommended that individuals spend time outdoors in the sunlight to absorb vitamin D as naturally as possible. If one cannot be outdoors, supplementing vitamin D as recommended by one’s physician would be a great alternative.

The guidelines also highlighted very specific potential adverse outcomes that many across the United States and beyond have experienced and urged anyone, especially those under 65, not to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The nurse panel discussed how we continue to see those adversely affected and how the vaccine injured continue to grow with little resources currently available to them.

Nurse Ashley and Nurse Davis then discussed how COVID-19 funding was used by various states across the United States. States like New Jersey, with close to 9.5 million inhabitants, have found that close to 10% of their population was adversely affected by COVID-19. They explained that moving forward, the state would implement various guidelines to act accordingly in preventing such a rise in COVID-19 cases. The elephant in the room was just how many NJ residents are currently vaccinated against COVID-19.

Nurse Nicole discussed how the state of Florida had numerous grassroots organizations such as Health Freedom Florida, FL. Freedom Keepers and We are Change Orlando have worked alongside Florida’s State administration, including Dr. Joseph Ladapo, to raise awareness of medical freedom and the right to bodily sovereignty. An initiative was taken at the end of 2023, where communities in Florida made #BanTheJabsFlorida videos that were a few minutes long to raise awareness of the harm we were seeing amongst those vaccinated against COVID-19.

We encourage our listeners to find the #BanTheJabsFlorida on social media platforms to be inspired to share your story related to the concerns of COVID-19 vaccines. Nurse Ashley echoed this by motivating listeners to visit vaersproject.com to learn more about appropriately reporting adverse reactions as healthcare practitioners.
