If you’re planning on going to see the new movie The Sound of Freedom in theaters, you might need to make a new plan. That’s because one woman on TikTok is claiming that her theater purposefully made it impossible for her to see the movie — and she thinks it might be part of a larger scheme.
Something about her experience really rubbed her the wrong way, so @bleighve1112 took to the internet to explain her theory.

Coming out of the AMC theater in question, the woman had a lot on her mind.
“My friends and I just walked out and we are curious what your experience were in the movie theater?” she asked. “Because we pre-ordered our tickets, paid for them, they were claimed, got the link [….] Some point today, tickets got refunded to my friend and we couldn’t figure out why.” The group decided to go to the AMC anyway, and when they got their they were told that the tickets were refunded because there wasn’t any air conditioning in the theater.
They asked if they could still watch the movie — even without AC. And wondered why they weren’t told explicitly that there was a problem with the air conditioning when they were sent the refund notification.
“There was eight people in the theater on a Friday night,” she continued, before adding that there was air conditioning in other parts of the AMC. Which really set off alarm bells.
“I smell something stinky,” she said.
Other people said that their theater had issues playing the movie as well. “Wow this crazy the same thing happened to us, we are in Las Vegas, Nevada,” wrote one person. “The AMC in TX was also with no AC,” another person added. “Same in New York I watched with no air condition,” a third person chimed in.
The faith-based movie about child trafficking has been controversial from the start. According to Variety, the movie was originally supposed to be released in 2018 but was shelved when 20th Century Fox was acquired by Disney. The movie was ultimately released independently by Angel Studios.
It’s the content of the movie that has some people concerned. As the news outlet reports some detractors of the film have accused it of embellishing the horrors of child trafficking and stoking up QAnon conspiracy theories. Although as of now the reviews of the movie are overall positive and the movie has been a box office success.
