In a newly released study by the Network of Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), which is embedded at the bottom of this article, they researched the emerging “assassination culture’ from liberals online, and how the increasingly radical rhetoric online normalizing violence against President Trump and Elon Musk, as examples, were leading to real world escalations of violence.
Do not expect the MSM to cover this report in any depth, by an organization they usually use as “experts” in their reports, because it specifies “politically left-leaning segments of the population,” and the violent rhetoric, as well as the belief that murder and property destruction in becoming increasingly popular with that segment, and is not just the “fringe” of the Democrat party.

We’ll highlight some of the key points that caught the eye, and readers are encouraged to read through the 16 page report and highlight what catches their eye in the comment section.
Earlier in the report they do mention those on the “extreme” left, but on page #10 they state “The data reveal a structured endorsement of political violence targeting figures like Donald Trump and Elon Musk. These attitudes are not fringe—they reflect an emergent assassination culture, grounded in far-left authoritarianism and increasingly normalized in digital discourse.”
Under the introduction on pages #1 and #2, they list the following data points:
• Muder Justification: 31% and 38% of respondents stated it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk and President Trump, respectively.
○ These effects were largely driven by respondents that self-identified as left of center, 3 with 48% and 55% at least somewhat justifying murder for Elon Musk and President Trump, respectively, indicating significantly higher justification for violence against these figures.
• Property Destruction: Nearly 40% of respondents (39.8%) stated it is at least somewhat acceptable (or more) to destroy a Tesla dealership in protest.
• Psychological/Ideological Correlations with Assassination Culture: These beliefs are highly correlated with one another, as well as with the justification of the murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO and hyper-partisan left-wing ideology.
○ This suggests that support for violence is part of a broader assassination culture, underpinned by psychological and ideological factors.
• Online Amplification of Radical Ideation: BlueSky plays a significant and predictive role in amplifying radical ideation.
○ Users are increasingly associating the memeification of Luigi Mangione with calls for political violence against Musk, Trump, and others, reflecting the growing cyber-social presence of assassination culture.
BlueSky, mentioned in the report is the social media platform many online liberals moved to when X, formerly known as Twitter, started allowing a free exchange of discussion and stopped banning conservatives for their political ideology.
The group did analyze other social media platforms, including reddit and X, but the authors chose to specify BlueSky in the introduction points listed above.
