There seems to be no end to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Both parties appear to not agree on anything brought to the table by the U.S. delegation trying to broker a ceasefire between the two warring nations.
It appears that Russia’s rejection of any peace plan is due to the issue of Ukraine joining NATO.
The Kremlin’s consistent stance against Ukraine’s NATO membership has been and is still a sticking point with Putin.
The Kremlin recently proposed that a temporary external administration be created in Ukraine to replace President Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy has declared martial law and is not holding elections. He wants to stay in power. While all this debate between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States is going on, NATO appears to be taking measures to prepare for a wider war.
There are reports that Germany is sending troops to Lithuania as a show of force to Russia in an attempt to discourage them from invading a NATO country.
In my view, this is not necessary and could, in fact, be interpreted by Putin as an escalation. It looks like instead of Ukraine joining NATO, NATO is joining Ukraine.
NATO and EU members continue to hinder U.S. efforts to bring peace to the region.
