Terry Adirim was dismissed from her post at the CIA after playing a leading role in the Biden-era Pentagon directive requiring troops to receive COVID vaccinations.

Terry Adirim, a senior official at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and former Defense Department appointee under President Joe Biden, was terminated from her post last week due to her involvement in the implementation of the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, according to a report from Breitbart News.

Adirim previously served as the acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and issued a memo in September 2021 directing Department of Defense healthcare providers to treat the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, administered under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), as interchangeable with the FDA-approved Comirnaty version. “Consistent with FDA guidance, DoD health care providers will use both the PfizerBioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and the Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine interchangeably for the purpose of vaccinating Service members,” the memo stated.
The vaccine mandate for the military was ordered by then-Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and fully supported by the Biden administration. “The president agrees with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that the Pentagon should continue to require all service members be vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19,” then-National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters in 2022.
Adirim transitioned to the CIA in December 2024 to serve as director of the CIA Centers for Global Health Services. Her firing from the CIA, according to a source cited by Breitbart News, was directly related to her role in enforcing the controversial mandate that forced service members to choose between receiving a vaccine under EUA or facing dismissal.
In a social media post shared by Breitbart News, the outlet confirmed the firing, reporting: “Terry Adirim, a senior Central Intelligence Agency official and former senior defense official who played a pivotal and potentially illegal role in the Biden Administration’s military vaccine mandate, was recently fired from the agency.”
