Authorities in Austin, Texas, discovered several “incendiary devices” at a Tesla dealership on Monday morning after an anonymous caller reported bombs inside the facility, according to the Daily Mail. Officers from the Austin Police Department (APD) arrived at the dealership, located on U.S. Highway 183, shortly after 8 a.m. and immediately initiated a bomb threat protocol.

Upon arrival, APD officers found multiple incendiary devices within the building. The APD Bomb Squad was called to assist in neutralizing the threat. Authorities successfully collected all the devices without incident. Officials described the devices as being capable of inflicting large-scale damage but have not released further details regarding their construction or deployment.

No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Law enforcement has withheld specifics about the nature of the explosives as the investigation remains ongoing.

The Austin bomb threat follows a series of targeted attacks against Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk. In one incident, a Tesla critic set himself on fire while attempting to destroy Tesla charging stations in South Carolina. In a separate attack last week, an individual set multiple Tesla vehicles ablaze in Las Vegas.

The escalation of attacks comes amid federal prosecutions of individuals accused of firebombing Tesla properties. Last week, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that three suspects had been charged with deploying Molotov cocktails to set fire to Tesla dealerships and vehicles. Each defendant now faces prison sentences ranging from five to twenty years.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” Bondi said. “Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”

Despite these arrests, numerous suspects involved in recent Tesla arson attacks remain at large. The Department of Justice is continuing its investigation as attacks against Tesla and Elon Musk intensify in the wake of Musk’s high-profile efforts to curb government spending and promote free speech platforms.
