Attorney General Pam Bondi will order a full-scale review of the legal cases against President Donald Trump, targeting prosecutors who pursued charges against him in New York and at the federal level. According to CNN, Bondi, who was sworn in at the White House on Wednesday, will issue directives aimed at curbing politically motivated prosecutions and ensuring accountability for those involved.

The move places Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg under scrutiny, as Bondi’s review will include the hush money case that resulted in a conviction based on a jury that was not required to reach a unanimous decision on the specific “unlawful means” Trump allegedly used. Bondi’s probe will examine whether Bragg’s prosecution was improperly influenced by political motives.
According to Fox News, Bondi’s first-day directives extend beyond Bragg’s case. Her orders include a review of the two federal cases brought against Trump by Biden’s Justice Department, as well as a warning to DOJ employees that prioritizing political agendas over the administration’s policies will result in consequences.
Former Special Counsel Jack Smith is also expected to come under investigation for his prosecution of Trump over the handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. During the FBI raid, the use of lethal force against Trump was reportedly an option, raising serious concerns about abuse of power. Additionally, reports indicate that FBI agents were caught inserting documents during the raid, which were later removed—an act Bondi’s DOJ is likely to investigate.
New York Attorney General Letitia James also faces scrutiny for her civil lawsuit against Trump, in which he was ordered to pay $454 million over allegations of asset overvaluation. Bondi’s review will assess whether James acted within the bounds of the law or if political bias influenced the court’s ruling.
Bondi’s memo, first reported by Fox News, also details additional measures, including defunding sanctuary cities and prosecuting local officials who refuse to comply with immigration enforcement laws. These actions reflect the administration’s broader commitment to addressing judicial and law enforcement practices it views as politically motivated.
