On today’s episode of the National Security Hour on the America Out Loud Radio Network, Colonel Mike and Dr. Mike welcomed Mr. Michael Waller for an important discussion about the state of America and its security. Mr. Waller is a highly respected and long-time expert on this topic, focusing on the U.S. military and the U.S. intelligence community. He also authored a recently acclaimed book titled “Big Intelligence.”
Mr. Waller noted that it seems all of Trump’s most controversial cabinet selections are likely to be confirmed. This week, the Democrats and RINOs barely made a dent regarding Robert F. Kennedy, Tulsi Gabbard, or Kash Patel. All three performed notably well at the hearing with their expertise, and each exhibited remarkable self-control when addressing questions and comments from what frequently appeared to be anxious questioners.

The remarks about Sanders and Warren appearing to be “barking mad” seem quite accurate. However, if confirmed, each of Trump’s nominees will lead monstrous and radicalized organizations that need to be brought under control so they can no longer continue to harm the American republic.
Mr. Waller also discussed the challenging situation that the new Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, faces in addressing the harm intentionally inflicted on the U.S. military by the so-called woke crowd that Biden and Austin brought into our military forces. On this issue, the misguided principles of DEI and wokeness must not only be eradicated from the daily operations of the military but also removed from the ranks of flag officers and throughout the entirety of the military’s educational system, from ROTC to the service academies and Command and Staff College.
The military’s highest leadership must be filled with individuals who can develop credible strategies and define the end state America aims to achieve following U.S. military operations.1
Regarding Trump’s keeping his campaign promises, Mr. Waller said he seems right on target. The process of deporting illegal aliens is well underway; DEI offices across the government have been shut down, the mad “pronouns” have been removed from the biographies of federal employees, and slowly but surely, the removal of the bureaucrats who helped Obama-Biden effort to destroy the American republic are being terminated from their jobs.
We have yet to witness the actual arrest of the many individuals who have almost certainly committed treason, particularly within the Intelligence Community, the FBI, FEMA, DHS, and the U.S. military.
Finally, Mr. Waller reminded all of us that China, while post-election turmoil continues in the United States, is still waging its campaign to defeat the United States without a full war. With most of the foreign policy headlines dealing with the Ukraine-Russia War, Israel-Palestine War, the silly, non-starter plan to deport all of the Palestinians to other countries, and the increasing creakiness of NATO and the weird plans of its European leaders, the Chinese continue to try to inflict physical and strategic damage on the United States with actions short of war.
