A new report from the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight has revealed allegations of FBI misconduct in the investigation into the January 6 pipe bombs. The bombs were discovered near the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters on January 5, 2021, the day before the Capitol riot.

Joint Pipe Bomb Report Fina… by yourNEWS Media

The report claims the FBI ceased its active search for the pipe bomber in 2021, despite the threat posed by the devices. Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino previously stated, citing a whistleblower, that federal agents were initially briefed about the suspect but were instructed to “stand down” days after the investigation began.

“This directly contradicts statements by FBI Director Christopher Wray,” Bongino said.

According to the report, conflicting information surrounds the FBI’s handling of cellular data from the area. While a former senior FBI official testified that major cell carriers provided “corrupted” data, the carriers have denied this, claiming the FBI never reported issues with the data.

Representative Barry Loudermilk, a leading investigator, criticized the lack of progress. “Nearly four years later, federal law enforcement has yet to identify the individual responsible for planting the pipe bombs. The American people still deserve the full truth,” Loudermilk said in a statement.
