The Daniel Penny case should never have gone to trial at all. Any man who acts instinctively to quell a threat to others should have been hailed as a good example for young people, not punished for it by angry Marxist activists who wish to turn an altruistic act into a racial issue merely for political gain. Despite the efforts of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and his cohorts (as well as a judge who tried to find a way to convict the young Marine), the Good Samaritan and neighborliness won out over a Leftist movement that seeks to destroy the concept of acting in defense of others.

Penney’s acquittal on charges of killing Jordan Neeley, who was threatening to kill passengers on a subway in New York City, was the right decision that never needed to be made. Still, it was one which drew the ire of the nation’s Far-Left, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who juxtaposed Penny’s protective actions to the inner workings of a remorseless sociopath.
Also, the BLM New York leader was angrily railing against Penny, calling for vengeance because he did not get his way. While we tend to laugh off these political clowns, it must be considered they are the comical faces of the Left’s true distaste for a sense of community, the desire to protect others, and the proverbial Good Samaritan as well as their desire to create a new Saint Floyd out of Neely.
It is arguable the Democrat Party of today is Marxist at its core; the Penny case reactions from its farther-left political stars are the showcase of such an assertion. The Left despises the idea a man should be able to protect others from criminals because they have long seen men like Neely as “victims of society.” While it is arguable many homeless people in cities are lost in the proverbial cracks, Neely’s case does not fall into that category.
In fact, the man was given a home and help instead of jail time for punching and severely injuring a 67-year-old woman, a 15-month alternative-to-incarceration program, but he soon walked away from all of it to add to his long rap sheet. He has a long history of crimes, including felonies, and was a true threat to others until he met someone who (along with help on the subway car) decided to halt one of his attempts at hurting others.
Despite Penny’s heroism, he was greeted with charges from activist DA Bragg as a tribute to radicalized protests using the political creation of a racial incident out of the situation as an excuse for miscreancy. Although the Marine did not care about the political bend or background of those he protected, media members and Leftist politicians were quick to call him a racist because the potential perpetrator was black. Perhaps that was their intent on the surface, but an underlying issue is the Modern Democrat’s aversion and disdain for a protective Good Samaritan like Penny, who did not let a criminal do his “thing.”
This war on both protection and self-defense is borne from their loathing of firearms ownership rights and their distaste for the “good guy with a gun” taking matters into his or her own hands to stop a shooter, murderer, robber, or attacker. In the case of Penny, the protector did not brandish a weapon but used a hold on Neely to harmlessly subdue him before others could escape the car (Neely was also able to step out of the car alive).
A society where people help and protect each other is less dependent on a government. A civilization where the instinct is to take care of one’s neighbor regardless of background diminishes the importance of a political entity’s control. Marxists need to indoctrinate much of the public to only turn to the hierarchy for every situation. For that, they need to use manipulation, the instigation of racial tensions, and the promotion of rampant crime to bring a population to its proverbial knees without knowledge they can help themselves and others during tense situations.
The Daniel Pennys of the world embody the opposite of the Marxist philosophy and, to the Left, must be shamed and imprisoned as an example to anyone who stands up to them or to aid their fellow man.
