from 21st Century Wire:
The Guardian, formerly one of Britain’s preeminent left-leaning news outlets, has announced that it will no longer be posting on X.
On Wednesday, the newspaper published a rather baffling article explaining the reasons why it is leaving the platform forever.
According to their propaganda office, “the benefits” of posting on X simply don’t outweigh “the negatives,” and crowed that its resources could be better used elsewhere.

In other words: they’ve thrown in the towel in the information war.
Publicly, The Guardian are claiming they had no choice but to boycott X, due to issues ranging from the trauma of seeing Elon Musk’s tweets, and a vague allusion to “disturbing content”, with particular ire reserved for “far-right conspiracy theories and racism.”
However, it shouldn’t be surprising that their big announcement came right after a landslide victory for Donald Trump.
This sort of sanctimonious behavior by MSM journos is no longer conspicuous.
“The U.S. presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse,” they wrote.
This was no doubt a reckoning for The Guardian’s elitist editorial board, who for months (in fact years) posted anything they possibly could to undermine and defame Trump, only to suffer a crushing defeat on November 5th. They weren’t alone in this respect, as many other mainstream outlets are having a moment of self reflection and pondering whether they can actually retain a viable audience – and actually stay in business – as opposed to catering for an ever-shrinking demographic of government employees, spooks, and liberal corporate elitists.
“X now plays a diminished role in promoting our work,” the newspaper declared, adding that its “business model does not rely on viral content tailored to the whims of the social media giants’ algorithms.”
The real issue is much more simple and profound: in their mission to defend the policies of the state and an endless stream of Five Eyes intelligence services’ approved narratives, The Guardian simply cannot compete in marketplace of ideas.
Rather than have the all-important ‘come to Jesus moment’ and realise the error in their ways, they’re storming off in a huff and throwing their authoritarian toys out of the pram.
THIS PROVES THAT ELITE GUARDIAN FEELS IT CANNOT COMPETE IN THE MARKETPLACE OF IDEAS.
So they are throwing their authoritarian toys out of the pram… https://t.co/zlrZy0Q0Wv

By becoming a hyper-partisan and spook newsletter, The Guardian have gone the route of other struggling publications like the Times of London and The Intercept, with the latter forced to grovel almost daily for reader support via gushing emails as they careen rapidly towards bankruptcy.
Not every mainstream outlet is resigned to sinking into irrelevance though. The week, the LA Times owner, Dr. Pat Soon-Shiong, announced that the newspaper will be replacing its editorial board, saying that, “When the President has won the vote of the majority of Americans then ALL voices must be heard. Opinions are just that.”
