from The National Pulse:
Several senators set to grill Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on his potential appointment to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have received substantial donations from Big Pharma. The Senate Finance Committee will first assess Kennedy’s nomination. Between 2019 and 2024, contributions from the pharmaceutical industry to senators on this committee amounted to over $6.7 million.
Republican senators received the majority of these funds. Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina received more than $679,000, Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana with $667,000, and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina with $564,000.

Among Democrats, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada was the top recipient, with nearly $460,000.
Financial influences do not automatically mean bias. Republican Sen. Ron Johnson collected over $124,000 from the pharmaceutical sector. However, he has been outspoken in his criticism of the industry.
Should the Senate committee confirm Kennedy, he would manage a department that oversees federal health insurance programs and regulatory bodies like the National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which are crucial for food and drug regulation.
Kennedy takes a critical stance on the pharmaceutical industry and adulterants in food, and could be a catalyst for major nutritional changes and investigations.
Along with vaccine skepticism, Kennedy calls for policies and measures to Make America Healthy Again, including tackling the country’s chronic disease crisis. He has the support of former CDC Director Robert Redfield, who believes that Kennedy was right to criticize the relationship between health agencies and Big Pharma companies.
