Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, becomes the fourth county in the state to initiate an investigation into fraudulent voter registrations, raising concerns ahead of the presidential election.

Lehigh County has opened an investigation into hundreds of suspicious voter registration forms submitted ahead of the October 21 deadline. This action follows similar probes in Lancaster, Monroe, and York Counties in Pennsylvania, where officials have reported potential voter registration fraud connected to voter outreach organizations.

According to Lehigh Valley News, District Attorney Gavin Holihan and Chief Clerk of Elections Tim Benyo confirmed that their office flagged numerous registration applications through routine vetting procedures. Benyo noted that of approximately 1,800 applications received from get-out-the-vote organizations, about 1,500 originated from a single group. Approximately 40% of these applications were found to be “garbage”—forms containing blatantly incorrect information that were quickly flagged for further scrutiny.

“Only legitimate voters will be able to cast a ballot in the upcoming presidential election,” Holihan stated, expressing confidence in the election office’s review processes.

While Lehigh County officials did not disclose the name of the voter registration group involved, other counties have identified Field and Media Corps, an Arizona-based consulting firm, as the source of hundreds of fraudulent forms. Field and Media Corps has operated in states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and California since 2017, focusing on strategic field and media operations related to voter registration and campaign activities.

Investigations began in earnest after Monroe County’s election board conducted a standard review and discovered around 30 irregular voter registration forms, which were subsequently referred to the district attorney’s office for further action. Lancaster County also flagged hundreds of problematic applications submitted just before the deadline and has initiated its own criminal investigation. The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office has reached out to multiple counties to assess the extent of the issue and ensure coordinated efforts in response.

Field and Media Corps describes itself as an organization dedicated to engaging communities of color and other underrepresented groups in voter registration efforts. However, the recent wave of investigations in Pennsylvania has cast a shadow over the group’s practices as officials strive to safeguard the election process and maintain voter trust.

With Election Day approaching, the findings in Lehigh and other counties underscore the importance of vigilance in the voter registration process to ensure that only legitimate votes are counted and the integrity of the electoral system is preserved.
