A federal judge has ordered former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to hand over a significant amount of personal property to be placed in receivership. The judge has given Giuliani seven days to comply.
The order includes the former mayor’s Manhattan penthouse apartment, along with several luxury items and jewelry. The receivership determination comes as Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss have sought to collect on the $148 million defamation judgment they won against Giuliani.

Once the personal property is transferred, the appointed receiver will determine how Giuliani’s property will be used to settle the judgment. However, the penthouse will be transferred separately so that Freeman and Moss can move to sell the domicile, which is potentially worth millions of dollars. Judge Lewis Liman’s order does not include a determination on whether Giuliani will be able to keep his Palm Beach, Florida, condominium or four New York Yankees World Series rings, which his son contends were gifted to him.
Late last year, Freeman and Moss won the massive defamation judgment after a federal judge ruled Giuliani had defamed the two women in August. The defamation case stemmed from claims made by the former mayor and confidant of President Donald J. Trump that Freeman and Moss had engaged in a ballot fraud scheme in Fulton County, Georgia, during the 2020 presidential election.
It is not yet clear whether Giuliani and his attorneys intend to seek a stay on the receivership order or appeal the decision.
