Following a rally for former President Donald Trump in Tucson, Arizona, approximately 20 supporters seated behind the stage were rushed to the emergency room with serious eye injuries, including blurred vision and burning sensations. The cause of the symptoms, which affected those seated primarily on the left side of the stage, remains unknown, prompting an active investigation.

Arizona Globe journalist Christy Kelly first reported on the troubling incident, stating that “as many as 20 people” were affected by the symptoms following the rally. Many of these supporters have yet to fully recover from their injuries, Kelly reported on X. The supporters who were impacted include members of the “Latinos for Trump” group, among them Pastor Eli Moreno and his wife, Francesca.

Pastor Moreno described the situation, stating, “Her vision blurred, her face swelled up, and we had to rush to the nearest Walgreens for help.” Although Francesca Moreno received treatment in the emergency room, her symptoms persisted, and she has since been referred to an ophthalmologist for further evaluation.

Mayra Rodriguez, a former Planned Parenthood whistleblower, also reported similar symptoms after the event. “When I got to the hospital, they told me I had a chemical burn,” Rodriguez said in an interview with News 4 Tucson. “Days later, I’m still dealing with blurry vision and sensitivity to light.”

Rodriguez explained that about 30 minutes after leaving the rally, her eyes began to burn so severely that she could not keep them open. When she arrived at the hospital, medical staff questioned whether she had been sprayed with something, as her symptoms resembled a chemical exposure. “The emergency room staff, from the triage nurse to the PA, asked are you sure you didn’t get sprayed with something? Your symptoms look like you got sprayed with something,” Rodriguez told News 4 Tucson.
