Russia has reportedly destroyed two multiple rocket launchers (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS) that Ukraine was attempting to conceal. The systems taken out had been concealed in Sumy Region, from which Kiev launched its recent incursion into Russia.

Russia has been systematically destroying many of the missile systems that the West has provided to Ukraine, and is unafraid to tell the world about it.

Russia Destroyed 3 U.S.-Supplied Ukrainian High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS)

The Defense Ministry in Moscow reported on Wednesday, that they have footage showing the strike that took out the two missile systems.  The attack was conducted at night near the small village of Khrapovshchina in Ukraine’s Sumy Region, according to a report by RT. The footage showed several vehicles driving under the cover of trees in a forest just south of the settlement, which is located roughly 15km from the Russian border. A missile is then seen hitting the location, causing a massive explosion.

A U.S.-Supplied HIMARS System Destroyed By Russia In Donbass

The ministry claimed that the recent blast destroyed two of the U.S.-made rocket launchers donated to Kiev. They included a wheeled HIMARS system and a tracked MLRS (multiple-launch rocket system). Ukrainian forces also lost two support vehicles and up to 20 troops, the statement said.

The Sumy Region borders Russia’s Kursk Region, where Kyiv’s forces launched an incursion last month. Ukrainian officials claim that the operation was intended to establish a “buffer zone” on Russian soil. Volodymyr Zelensky told NBC News as reported by RT, this week that he wants to hold those territories for the foreseeable future as part of his “victory plan.”

Over 9,300 Ukrainian troops have been killed and hundreds of heavy weapons have been destroyed in the nearly month-long Kursk incursion, according to Russian Defense Ministry estimates released on Tuesday. Moscow considers the Ukraine conflict to be a U.S.-led proxy war against Russia in which Ukrainian troops are being used as “cannon fodder.”
