Election experts estimate that up to 2.7 million noncitizens could illegally vote in the 2024 U.S. elections due to lax border enforcement and outdated voter registration processes.

Experts are warning that the potential for illegal voting in the 2024 elections could reach unprecedented levels, with between 1.5 million to 2.7 million illegal immigrants casting ballots across various races. This surge in unlawful voting is attributed to lax immigration policies and outdated voter registration procedures, compounded by the record influx of illegal immigration during the Biden-Harris administration.

Kerri Toloczko, executive director of the Election Integrity Network and senior advisor to the Only Citizens Vote Coalition, pointed to a significant academic finding. “A 2014 academic journal found that 6.4% of noncitizens voted in 2008,” Toloczko said in an interview with Washington Stand. “There are about 24 million noncitizens in the U.S. right now. If they voted at the same rate this year as they did in 2008, they would account for 1.5 million votes.” Toloczko believes this figure may be even higher in 2024 due to increased noncitizen activity at state DMVs and voter registration efforts by left-wing activists.
James D. Agresti, cofounder of the fact-check website Just Facts, has also weighed in, stating that up to 2.7 million noncitizens could illegally vote in the upcoming election. Agresti’s study estimates that between two and five million noncitizens are already illegally registered to vote in the U.S., and efforts to debunk these findings have “completely failed.”
The House of Representatives released a 22-page report documenting illegal immigrants voting across the country. Currently, 17 cities in California, Maryland, and Vermont, along with the District of Columbia, allow noncitizens to vote in local elections, though multiple irregularities have been reported. In some cases, noncitizens have cast ballots in federal elections.
“The federal government recently indicted a group of noncitizens from 15 different countries on federal voting charges,” Toloczko added. In Texas, 6,500 noncitizens were recently purged from the voter rolls, with 30% of them having active voting records.
Arizona Voter Registration Errors
Compounding the issue, Arizona election officials have uncovered that nearly 100,000 voters may have been incorrectly registered due to errors in the state’s Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) system. The MVD mistakenly classified these voters’ citizenship status, raising concerns about their eligibility. The error was discovered when a Maricopa County official flagged a case of a noncitizen who had been listed as a full-ballot voter despite holding only a green card.
Election officials are scrambling to correct the issue before ballots are mailed out. Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer confirmed that the discrepancy affects thousands of voters who should have been classified as “federal-only” voters, which restricts their participation to federal elections for president and Congress.
With such widespread concerns over voter registration and illegal voting, election integrity has become a key focus for House Republicans. They recently passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (H.R. 8281), which would require election officials to verify U.S. citizenship before registering individuals to vote. Despite passing in the House, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has declared the bill “dead on arrival” in the Senate.
