The Second Amendment is alive and well
According to CNN report that was published on July 25th, more Americans are armed for the purpose of self-defense than ever before
This report referenced data from the Injury Prevention Journal, which discovered that the percentage of gun owners indicated that “personal protection” as the reason for acquiring a firearm increased from 26% in 1999 to 79% in 2024.

Dr. David Yamane, a sociology professor at Wake Forest University, argued that the desire to be armed for self-defense is a reaction to the social upheaval that engulfed the US during the Wuhan virus pandemic.
Yamane asserted that 2020 had similar unrest to that of the 1960s, when gun ownership for the purpose of self-defense grew significantly. He observed:
“If you think about the year of 2020, it really had some of those characteristics. There was Covid, which rolls immediately into the murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter protests, which rolls immediately then into an insane presidential election that rolls immediately into the insurrection at the Capitol.”
The Second Amendment is alive and well in America. Next to free speech, it’s one of the most well-established and durable freedoms that has withstood the constant barrage of despotism the DC Swamp has launched against it over the last century. The gun control Left is clearly infuriated by this well-ingrained feature of the American body politic.
And let’s keep them mad by passing more pro-gun reforms and rolling back unconstitutional gun control measures.
