The Marxist Republic of California continues to deny parents rights

The Murrieta Valley Unified School Board told the California Department of Education to stick it after the government agencies ordered the school board to rescind their “controversial” policy requiring parents to be notified if their child wishes to identify as transgender.

The rationale given by the Department of Education states the board policy requires “Parent Notification that will disproportionately impact the safety of LGBTQ+ students in Murrieta and is discriminatory against their right to a safe educational environment.

Board Trustee Nick Pardue replied to the rescind order: “We have a right as a board to defy a dictatorial governor and bureaucracy … that tries to take away our rights as parents and as citizens — as a duly elected board. We have legal standing, and we should absolutely stand up for our rights against dictators.”

The School voted 3-2 to keep the policy in place. Board Trustee Nancy Young voted to buckle under the pressure of the Department of Education and rescind the board policy.

“I believe it is illegal, discriminatory, cruel,” Young complained.

This board member actually believes it’s illegal to notify parents if their son or daughter is telling school officials they would like to become the opposite gender. She believes it discriminates against the children but says nothing about the rights of the parents.

According to the Epoch Times, the board policy “requires schools to notify parents in writing within three days if their child identifies as transgender, is involved in violence, or shares thoughts of suicide.”

And Trustee Young actually believes this is illegal, and the California bureaucrats are attempting to shut it down. Welcome to the Marxist Republic of California.

Unfortunately, it gets worse.

In a 3-2 vote, California legislators in the Senate Education Committee killed Senate Bill 1435, which required school boards to regulate books with content considered harmful under California Penal Code 313. The legislation would have banned such books from being accessed by children in elementary and middle school libraries.

The penal code describes “harmful matter” as content that “depicts or describes in a patently offensive way sexual conduct and which, taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value for minors.”

It only took three Marxist Democrats to say yes to elementary libraries housing books with patently offensive sexual conduct in order for the bill to die in committee.
