Last year, the gun control crowd scored one of its biggest victories in the last three decades after President Joe Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law.

Per a Fact Sheet published by the Biden regime in May 2023, a key provision of this legislation is “enhanced background checks” and a modified definition of who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms.

An article recently published by New York Times reported that, “The regulations required to put the new law into effect — expected to be released soon — would require anyone who earns a profit from selling firearms to obtain a federal license and conduct background checks. Previously, dealers were required to join the federal system only if they derived their chief livelihood from selling weapons. Failing to register carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and $250,000 in fines.”

In a press release published by the National Association for Gun Rights, the pro-gun organization noted that if the New York Times’ turns out being true, “then anyone selling a single firearm for profit would be considered a dealer and subject to all of the rules, regulations, fees, background checks and requirements of a firearms business.”

“Joe Biden couldn’t ram Universal Gun Registration through the Congressional front door so now he is trying to do it through the back door using an Executive Order,” declared Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights. “Biden has no right to legislate this way.”

“The ATF and Biden Administration have a bad habit of making up their own laws when things don’t go their way in Congress or the Courts,” stated Brown.

“The National Association for Gun Rights stands ready to mobilize its members and legal council to fight this in Congress and the Courts if necessary.”

The Biden regime knows all too well that it can’t use conventional legislative means to pass gun grabs. So it will rely on executive fiat or bureaucratic tyranny to implement these measures.
