This announcement comes directly from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which seems to be pushing for this new addition to the dairy landscape.
The Panaev Farms company, operating in Nukus, claims to be the mastermind behind this initiative for the production and sale of dairy products with potential disinfectant properties against SARS-CoV-2. An idea that leaves some questions about the real efficacy and safety of these products.
The roots of this lie in the Immune Milk Project, a research project launched in 2021 by the International Center for Molecular Allergology and the Medical University of Vienna. The idea behind this experiment was to vaccinate cows imported from Austria and Germany with the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC2001. A move that has obviously generated controversial results.
After the vaccine doses were administered, virus-neutralizing antibodies were found to be produced in the milk of the cows. Details about the process and its security are yet to be clarified.
