Caveat emptor or buyer beware.
These words are just as true for the news and media we consume as any product you may buy.
This makes me wonder why so many Americans seem willing to listen to just about anyone who calls themselves an expert without checking their facts. I may be dating myself, but I remember family members reading through Consumer Reports to find the best washing machine or new vehicle to purchase.
My wife always checks the ratings and reviews before purchasing something on Amazon. Yet more and more people appear to be making life-impacting decisions based primarily, if not solely, on the letters after a person’s name.
