Once again, Pope Francis is claiming the world is already fighting a world war. The pope said on a recent trip to Kazakhstan that it is a mistake to call the conflict in Ukraine the Russia-Ukraine war since, in reality, it is a world war.
This is not the first time the pope has said that the globe is fighting a world war. According to news outlets close to the Vatican, such as AA, the Pope met with some Jesuit priests during his visit to Kazakhstan in mid-September. It is reported that during the visit, the spiritual leader of Catholics and the president of the Vatican made a statement to the Jesuit publication La Civilta Cattolica, and during the meeting, he spoke about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

“There is a war going on. I think it is a mistake to think of it as a cowboy movie where there are good guys and bad guys. It is also a mistake to think that this is a war between Russia and Ukraine. No: It’s a world war.”
Pope: The World Is ALREADY In A “Third World War”
These comments come not long after Russia mobilizes its military by drafting people to fight. Conscripted slaves are attempting to escape according to several media reports.
The pope isn’t wrong either, considering the obvious and significant role played by the West in the conflict. It was recognized early on, with experts suggesting some countries could be considered to allies with Ukraine against Russia, according to a report by the Express UK. The United States is funding the war and keeping it going at all costs while using inflammatory rhetoric wherever possible to try to advance it.
Bruce Fein, a constitutional expert and former associate attorney general in the Ronald Reagan administration, said in April: “The United States and several NATO members have become co-belligerents with Ukraine against Russia by systematic and massive assistance to its military forces to defeat Russia.” He added these could be “systematic or substantial violations of a neutral’s duties of impartiality and non-participation in the conflict”.
Pope Francis is convinced “there are international factors that contributed to provoke the war”. He recalled that “a head of state, in December last year, came to tell me that he was very worried because NATO had gone to bark at the gates of Russia without understanding that the Russians are imperial and fear border insecurity”.
It’s obvious to anyone paying attention that NATO intentionally provoked this war which is going to be set into hyperdrive in the aftermath of the destruction of Russia’s natural gas pipelines.
