The attack is close enough to the midterm election to be suspicious.
The following is speculation based on past events. Some may consider it a “conspiracy theory,” far afield of the narrative pushed by the corporate media, and in the process consider me an “extremist,” possibly a “rightwing domestic terrorist” for speculation on the Paul Pelosi attack.

I believe, without evidence, that David DePape, the suspect in the attack on Pelosi, is a mentally ill man manipulated by the FBI or some other USG agency involved in covert psychological operations.
After learning of the attack, I thought: this is too close to the midterm election to be a coincidence. In the days since the corporate media has performed somersaults to link DePape to QAnon and MAGA, and thus Republicans working to take back Congress.
This is so imperative, they dragged out the old war horse Hillary Clinton to fix the blame for the attack on Republicans. The message is clear: if you vote Republican, you’re voting for domestic terrorist enablers.

It is now obvious that DePape is mentally ill. His former partner, Oxane “Gypsy” Taub, told KGO in San Francisco he “is mentally ill. He has been mentally ill for a long time.”
Taub also said DePape had disappeared for a year, although she did not indicate when this was. “He came back in very bad shape. He thought he was Jesus. He was constantly paranoid, thinking people were after him.”
“Well when I met him, he was only 20 years old, and he didn’t have any experience in politics, and he was very much in alignment with my views and I’ve always been very progressive. I absolutely admire Nancy Pelosi.”
Did his politics change when he returned after a year or was this a more recent development? As it now stands, we don’t know. Such a radical shift in political outlook is unusual, although this may be attributed to his mental illness.
Is it possible the FBI turned DePape? The agency, basically the political police force for the national security state, has a long and sordid history of exploiting mentally ill individuals and converting them into would-be terrorists (who never accomplish the terror attacks they are accused of plotting).
