Looking at the photos of Venezuelan grocery stores empty, and the city “unrest” (riots), etc, and it quickly becomes clear why it’s a bad idea to live in a city or suburb.

When THAT kind of trouble happens, it’s much safer to be living in a rural area where there is a low density of people, housing, etc and a HIGH density of farms, forests, and uninhabited land.

It’s disturbing how SO many Americans (and Canadians, Europeans, Aussies, etc) don’t even consider that it can happen to all of us. I have friends & family who have no clue, and not worried, nor prepping anything. I don’t even bring it up anymore.. not for more than a couple of years… just letting them enjoy their (short) lives.

As for me? Just got done transplanting 2 types of squash, some more climbing beans, watermelon plants and a couple dozen tiny cabbage seedlings into my garden.
My next door neighbor (200ft away), is the only person I know who has his shit together and is on the right track with prepping & gardening. A genuine treasure to have such a great neighbor like that.
