WHITE HOUSE VOWS ‘EMERGENCY STAY’ OF JUDICIAL ORDER THWARTING PRESIDENT’S IMMIGRATION ORDER

“At the earliest possible time, the Department of Justice intends to file an emergency stay of this order and defend the executive order of the President, which we believe is lawful and appropriate.”

from Infowars:

The White House issued a statement vowing to file for an emergency stay of a federal judge’s order to block President Donald Trump’s executive order restricting immigration and refugees from high risk countries from the Middle East.

“At the earliest possible time, the Department of Justice intends to file an emergency stay of this order and defend the executive order of the President, which we believe is lawful and appropriate,” read a statement from Sean Spicer to reporters.

The statement explained that Trump’s order was issued under his constitutional authority to protect the American people.

U.S. District Court Judge James Robart took the unusual step of issuing a emergency stay of Trump’s order as the attorneys general of Washington and Minnesota filed a lawsuit to overturn the legislation.

The plaintiffs argue that Trump’s order violates the U.S. Constitution and federal law, including what they say is discrimination against a particular religion.

So while social justice warriors naively celebrate this decision as one motivated by a concern for the religious freedoms of those who were on the ban list, thus further reinforcing the false narrative that the travel ban was discriminatory, in actually it is motivated by nothing more than corporate greed, though shrouded in language considerably tamer, e.g., “economic stability”.

From Bloomberg: “…the states were able to link Trump’s edict to its adverse economic impact, said Geoffrey Hoffman, Director, University of Houston Law Center Immigration Clinic. The order’s effect on jobs and economic stability is likely to make the temporary ruling difficult for the president to overturn before the judge considers a permanent injunction, he said.”

“Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson said the effects on his state included economic consequences for employers based there, including Microsoft Corp., Starbucks Corp. and Amazon.com Inc. Bellevue, Washington-based Expedia Inc. had about 1,000 customers with flight reservations in or out of the U.S. from the seven countries, he said.”

The handwriting is on the wall. Don’t mess with the corporate elite. Nationalism has no place in a world that is hellbent on a global fascist oligarchy. Just wait until Trump addresses the Mexican problem. He’s gonna SERIOUSLY ruffle some corporate feathers then.

Dear President Trump,  you have legal precedent for your ban on illegal immigration.  The McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, duly passed by Congress, signed by Harry Truman and last used by Jimmy Carter in 1979 to prevent Iranian immigration.  How is it possible a judge from Seattle can rule in direct opposition to law already on the books and duly made as law?  As you promised on the campaign trail to enforce laws already on the books, using and enforcing McCarran-Walter can be added to the promises you have already kept.
Sincerely, James E. Sinclair and William L. Holter
