CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS TO CUT MEAT AND CHEESE FROM LUNCH MENU BECAUSE GLOBAL WARMING

by Daniel Lang, The Daily Sheeple:

There’s nothing wrong with believing in man-made global warming. However, its hard to ignore the fact that the people who are convinced that human activity is warming our planet, have a habit of forcing their lifestyle choices on everyone else. At a certain point they stopped trying to convince everyone that global warming is a man-made threat, and started dragging everyone into their low-carbon foot print world, regardless of what they believed.

The Oakland school district in California has provided a perfect example of this lefty presumptuousness in action. They’ve teamed up with an environmental group called Friends of the Earth (FOE), to concoct a new school menu that has a lower carbon foot print. They vastly reduced the amount of meat and cheese, and replaced it with vegan stir fry and tostadas, as well as reduced the portion sizes. What little meat and cheese is left comes from organic cows. By their own admission, this change only reduced the school’s food budget by 1%.

According to Jennifer LeBarre, the head of nutrition for the Oakland Unified School District, “We were so excited to see how the data showed that we could reduce our carbon and water footprint by serving healthy, delicious food –– like the vegetarian tostadas with fresh made in-house salsa, that kids absolutely love –– all while saving money.”

Uh huh. I’m sure your students just love eating your glorified rabbit food.

It’s not clear if the FOE or the school district consulted with parents on the menu change, or if they provided any studies that proved that their new lunch menu was actually healthier. What is clear, is that the Oakland School District is following in the footsteps of countless green authoritarians before them, who want to impoverish and starve us in the name of saving the planet.

It might sound “Lefty” but the hidden secret of greenhouse gas is that the #1 contributor by far is animal agriculture 51% based on a UN study as apposed to 13% globally for automobiles.

Maybe plant some trees….hey industrial hemp sequesters 4x carbon compared to a tree…i’m just sayin 🙂

@randy, you’re “spot on” as the Brits would say. Yes, animal production gives much fewer food calories per inputs than growing plants and eating them instead of feeding them to the livestock.

ATTENTION- Survival food tips for everybody!!!

Now, if we would let the livestock eat grass and natural forage, it would be a much different set of numbers.

As for going to a plant based diet? For good balance, will require a knowledge of which plants give the required amino acids and Omega fatty acids that are normally acquired from eating meats.

There are plenty of good plant based sources. Off the top of my head, I can think of Amaranth seeds, Chia seeds, flax, . Those are very interesting, and often high protein stuff.

Purslane is another one,(Omega 3’s) also contains Malic Acid (which is used-along with Pectin, in making jams, jellies AND is also part of BLOOD & body detox against RADIATION products).
Purslane is a very common DRIVEWAY crack and sidewalk WEED. Related or is one of the “succulent” family.

And don’t forget those “Jerusalem Artichokes”. BUY some now, plant them, read about them, as they are quite effective to control diabetes (I am NOT a doctor, duh). For that health problem, eat one or two (as needed) per day, RAW one day, BOILED or roasted the next. RAW they remind me of water chestnuts. Boiled they taste 97% like white potatoes.

They spread underground. It’s a STEALTH FOOD because NOBODY recognizes them!!! And they don’t need the BEES.

Growing Lisbon Bunching Onions & “Egyptian walking onions”, both of these are PERENNIALS!!
Buy some ginger roots from the store and grow them.
Learn how to sprout SWEET POTATOES and grow them.

Paw Paw trees, are a North American, native fruit tree that also does NOT NEED BEES for pollination (because the red flowers smell like ROTTING MEAT and attract beetles and other bugs), so plant them away from your windows.

Chia & Amaranth are good food source for the crash because people won’t recognize them as CROPS!!!

Ducks are not as noisy as chickens. Also consider quail, rabbits.
Moscovy ducks have RED meat. Looks and cooks like beef. And ducks probably don’t require all the antibiotics like often happens with chickens.

Problem is, cows can eat grass and thrive on it. Humans cannot. They do not HAVE to be fed human-consumable grains.

Besides… those who prefer to graze rather than eat are welcome to do so. Those who prefer to EAT rather than graze should have the same right. Gimmee a T-bone done medium well, baked tater, butter-fried mushrooms, a side of garlic toast, and a class of Cabernet Sauvignon. 🙂

    • PawPaws really need to be hand-pollinated to be successful. Flies are notoriously poor pollinators – I have a small PawPaw patch and fruit production is far more prolific when you do it with a paintbrush as opposed to letting Mother Nature take hold.

      Just my experience, though.

      I don’t mind.

There’s a lot of fat beaners around here.

“There’s nothing wrong with believing in man-made global warming.”

Actually, there is. Believing in any form of bulls**t is a problem, IMO. There is solid physical evidence that AGW is a hoax that is being perpetrated strictly for political and monetary control of those silly enough to believe in this nonsense. Once these idiots reach a majority of the voting public, they WILL ram it down all our throats.
