We should keep in mind with Fukushima we are talking about 3 reactors and around 600 tons of melted down fuel. Globally there are 451 reactors. (Most of them built in the 70s) Add that to the spent fuel cooling pools you are looking at around 315,000 tons of highly radioactive fuel. Now factor in the fact that if any catastrophic event caused some or all of these reactors to be unmanned they would go into meltdown within 7 days, being the average length of time that the backup diesel for the ECCS would last. Reactors and spent fuel rods take upwards of 3 years to cool down. So Doomsday preppers. You are wasting your time and money. You should be directing your attention to ending the madness we call the nuclear industry. Just takes one large solar flare or a pandemic for example and mankind is extinct. Zero survivors.
