In a recent on-air segment, syndicated radio host Glenn Beck offered his take on the fact that the media had, at the time, not released any images depicting the female suspect killed during a standoff with police following Wednesday’s mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif.
“Why don’t they have a picture of her?” he wondered, adding that the reason could be rooted in political correctness.
“Is it possible,” he asked about the reportedly radicalized Muslim, “that we don’t have a picture of her because she was always in a headscarf … and that political correctness is playing a role that they do not want her looking like that on television?”
Beyond his speculation regarding the dearth of images depicting 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik, Beck held Barack Obama to task for his derisive allegations that Republicans opposed to opening America to potentially dangerous Muslim refugees are “scared of widows and orphans.”
The recent carnage in California, Beck asserted, completely dismantles that partisan narrative.
“Well,” he continued, “now let me see, Mr. President. She seemed to be an immigrant … that was brought in under your administration through all of your screening practices. You just mocked us for being afraid of women and children and widows. Here’s a woman. What, are you afraid of a new bride?”
He concluded by insisting that he is scared of anyone coming from Islam-dominated corners of the world.
“It is a diseased ideology,” he said of a radical interpretation of Islam that is not “gender-specific, nationality-, not ethnic-specific, either.”
