from Western Journalism:
Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton ramped up her call for gun control during a recent campaign event. Despite some notable recent policy rifts between Clinton and Barack Obama, she made it clear that she is sympathetic to his response to the recent Oregon shooting.
“It’s just the worst feeling,” she asserted. “You’re the president of the United States and people are being massacred inside your own country.”
She quickly transitioned into finger-pointing mode, lamenting “the hold the NRA has over members of Congress.”
If anything, she said, the Obama administration has been too reticent to unilaterally enforce new regulations.
She touted “certain executive actions” she has in store for her presidency, noting that she would “be fully supportive” of Obama choosing to do the same.
“Whatever we can do to send a message,” she said.
While her diatribe received plenty of social media criticism, a large number of Twitter users focused on her comparison of the NRA to two of America’s greatest threats.
