Michelle Obama Tells Grads About Experiencing ‘Daily Slights’ Because She’s Black

by Susan Jones, CNS News:

“I had my share of bumps along the way,” First Lady Michelle Obama told a predominantly African-American audience at Tuskegee University on Saturday.

Her commencement address was all about racism, although she never used that word.

Mrs. Obama told graduates and their families about the “daily slights” that she and her husband have experienced. She urged graduates to overcome that “heavy burden” by channeling their frustration into “studying and organizing and banding together” — and voting “in every election at every level, all of the time.”

There are people in the world who assume that virtually everything they hear is about them and / or a “slight”. 🙁

If it wasn’t for people like the Obamas, Eric Holder, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton, very few others would give a damn about race anymore. Wasn’t that supposed to be THE goal? Yes, it was… the end of racism, as they used to say. But now that it is nearly here, those who make a fat living from stirring the race relations pot are seeing the end of all the largess they have come to expect from life, so do all they can to keep trouble brewing. That justifies their existence AND their fat salaries AND their many perks.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are WELL aware that it is what is in a person’s mind and heart that really matter and not something as trivial as what color their skin, hair, eyes, or fingernails happen to be. At some point, everyone will become aware of this race-baiting game and will refuse to support those who do it. That day cannot come soon enough for most of us. But then, we don’t derive a high standard of living from it so won’t miss it a bit when it finally goes onto the ash-heap of human history… where it absolutely belongs.
