To play on Everest is almost to go into combat, consider your a dead man until you get home. The locals didn’t have a choice, if you willingly put your self of the slopes of Everest well you made your bed. There are worst places to met your end if you can die doing something you love to do, how can you ask for more then that?

We are all dying, hell I died a bit twenty years ago when I had to tell a friend I couldn’t go above 12,000 ft. In a climb he wanted to do in Nepal. I knew my limits, five years younger well it would have been a different story. To be honest to die doing something you love doing… bad luck or not. Damn I’ll not feel sorry for you!

  • Good points CalSailX. God bless the 1000+ locals who didn’t have a choice. But everyone I talk with is bringing up the news about the earthquake and all those poor climbers on Everest with the avalanche. Some lives are just worth more. Isn’t that the message? Isn’t that how we as a “culture” agree to value life? Enough said.
